The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency, whose role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which supports a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability, this is, people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability and eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay, and their families and carers.
The NDIS provides assessment, approval and allocates funding to individuals, or their family carer, for supports and services, and it is available to Australian citizens aged under 65. The NDIS can also provide participants with information and referral to service providers that can be accessed in your community.
