In the pursuit of a fulfilling life, happiness often takes centre stage. Furthermore, it is a fundamental human right, recognised as a universal goal for all human beings. This belief is at the heart of the International Day of Happiness, established by the United Nations in 2012 and celebrated every year since then, on March 20th.
This day not only aims to encourage overall well-being, but also to inspire individuals and communities around the world to take action to create a more inclusive and joyful world for everyone – a mission that deeply resonates with our core values at Dash.
We understand the profound impact that nurturing happiness can have on individuals’ lives – especially those with disabilities – and, more importantly, we recognise that fostering joy extends beyond emotional satisfaction: it is closely connected to our physical and mental health.
That is precisely why we, at Dash, are committed to promoting overall wellness, including both physical and mental health. Through our range of services, we strive to create environments where our clients feel empowered to live fulfilling lives, regardless of the challenges they may face. For instance, our community access initiatives encourage social engagement as well as physical activity, which is known to release endorphins (the body’s natural mood lifters). Our respite services, on the other hand, offer much-needed relief and support, thus reducing stress and improving our outlook on life.
Whether it’s through engaging activities, supportive relationships, or opportunities for personal growth, we are dedicated to helping every individual experience joy and fulfilment every day. And by addressing the diverse needs of our clients through meaningful connections we contribute to this celebration’s main goal: prioritising happiness, today!
