Dash’ Support Workers: Creating meaningful connections

Providing support is not just a job, it’s a way to make a positive difference in someone’s life”.

– Etty, Support Worker. Dash Access and Inclusion Services

There are relationships that foster a sense of trust, belonging, and emotional support, thus forming the foundation for a strong and effective support system. This is what we, at Dash, call ‘meaningful connections’, and it is a valuable mission that we are quite committed to.

Walt Disney once said ‘You can design, create and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality”. We share his idea, as we are aware that behind Dash’ mission there is a group of very talented people who can make our dream a reality: our team. And today, we want to talk about some of them: our support workers (SW).

Our Support Workers team truly understands the unique desires and aspirations of our participants, which allows us to provide tailored and person-centered care. Through their unwavering dedication and compassionate approach, the support workers foster an environment of trust, understanding, and empathy, and by actively listening to our participants’ needs and aspirations, they develop deep connections that usually go above and beyond.

As Etty, who is a member of our team, shared with us, support workers at Dash Access and Inclusion Services have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of many individuals, and even more, they can witness the transformative power of their work firsthand – which is incredibly rewarding and serves as a constant motivation. She says:

‘For me, providing support to individuals with disabilities can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Being able to help someone achieve their goals, develop new skills, and enjoy their life to the fullest and incredibly fulfilling. Seeing their joy and happiness that comes from the work is motivating factor for me as a support worker and can create a sense of purpose and meaning in my work’.

By fostering meaningful connections, we not only enhance the quality of care for our participants, but also contribute to the empowerment of our team. We love that both parts are sharing a journey toward a more inclusive and fulfilling life, which, in the end, is precisely what Dash stands for: to embrace the sparkle of life!
